Ali (16) , who lost his mother and father in the Balkan War, his grandmother Hatice and his aunt Zeynep travel from Thessaloniki to the Ambarseki village located in Karaburun, İzmir. Hatice, who stems from a wealthy family, leaves all her lands and properties in one day and leaves for İzmir. But she does not like the house that is given to them in Ambarseki and gets disappointed. Ali, who misses his cat and his room, tries to adjust himself to the village. Ali falls in love with Nergis, whom he first sees when he is on his way to the village, as time passes by. But the son of the squire, Zübeyir, is also in love with Nergis and this leads to violent fights between Ali and Zübeyir. Nor Ali neither Zübeyir gives up on Nergis. This situation starts to bother Hatice and the family decides to leave the village and go to their relatives in Istanbul. Ali gives Nergis the pendant left from his mother on his last day in the village. Meanwhile, the letters Ali writes to Nergis from Istanbul do not get handed over to Nergis. Years go by. Both Ali and Nergis get married to other people. Both are unhappy. One day, a woman comes for the repairment of her pendant to Ali’s jewelry store in Istanbul.
